The restaurant, conveniently located just four minutes from Sloane Square Station, unveiled its culinary symphony at a lively launch party characterized by cocktails, canapés, and captivating traditional Mexican performances. The ambiance is a tasteful fusion of chic and luxurious elements, featuring deep burgundy hues, hand-woven art adorning alcoves, and plush sofas. A standout feature is a captivating mural by Mexican artist Rafael Uriegas, seamlessly blending Mexican mythology with contemporary art.

Ixchel’s menu is a testament to Chef Gonzalez’s culinary finesse, offering an all-day tapas-style selection that tantalizes taste buds with diverse flavors and aromas. From hand-dived scallops aguachile and crab macha tostada to sautéed prawn flour quesadillas and pork belly tacos, each dish is a culinary masterpiece. The Platos Fuertes, or large plates, showcase culinary prowess with options like achiote charcoal crispy chicken thigh and a 28-day aged Hereford ribeye with chilmole sauce.

Complementing the gastronomic delights is a well-curated drinks menu boasting one of the largest collections of agave spirits in Europe. Choose from seven types of margaritas, eight house cocktails—including the delightful Paloma volcan blanco with Cointreau and three cents grapefruit soda—and five Tequila & Mezcal flights.

Ixchel’s commitment to authenticity extends to its name, borrowed from the Mayan goddess of the moon. The interior design pays homage to this legacy with contemporary macramé and a mural by Rafael Uriegas, creating an artistic ambiance. The culinary journey promises a taste of the exotic Yucatan peninsula, drawing inspiration from Tulum. Chef Gonzalez’s culinary expertise is showcased in dishes such as cheese and herb-stuffed pasilla chilis and black tiger prawns with squid skewers.
